Sam Hrko, a partner in the firm’s Charleston, West Virginia office, works mostly on catastrophic personal injury litigation, representing plaintiffs harmed by automobile accidents, industrial and mining accidents, aviation accidents and tractor-trailer crashes. He also works on product liability cases.
“I’m driven by the idea of guiding people through what tends to be some of their most difficult times,” said Sam. “I grew up in Southern West Virginia and I’ve seen what happens when ordinary citizens are hurt by the negligence of large corporations and others. Helping level the playing field brings me a lot of professional satisfaction.”
Sam earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from West Virginia State College, then received his law degree from Ohio Northern University College.
He’s found his science background helpful as he serves his clients. “I’ve been involved in cases where understanding science really helps present evidence in a way that lay people can understand,” he said. “And it’s helped me spot instances where expert witnesses were making claims the evidence didn’t support.”
Before getting into law, Sam was a champion powerlifter competing at the national level and a collegiate football coach.
