Fourth Circuit Denies Stay in Precedent-Setting Dish Telemarketing Suit

On June 24, Law360 reported that a Fourth Circuit panel denied Dish Network’s request to stay the court’s recent decision upholding a $61 million verdict against the company regarding Dish telemarketing calls. Dish argued there was no reason to move forward with the May order requiring disbursement of millions of dollars to class members while the company pursues a US Supreme Court appeal. The panel denied Dish’s request “upon consideration of submissions” without offering any further comment.
