Sharon works in Bailey & Glasser’s Charleston, West Virginia, office, focusing on high stakes corporate and commercial litigation, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) claims, and related consumer actions. She has tried over 20 cases. In 2018, she attained one of the largest judgments in the state for an individual claim under the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act (“WVCCPA”), in excess of $460,000.00.
Prior to joining Bailey & Glasser, Sharon was a partner in a trial boutique firm, where she litigated personal injury cases for nine years, and became widely known for her work in employment litigation. She pioneered the first case of same-gender sexual harassment under the West Virginia Human Rights Act, Willis v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., winning the then-novel cause of action for her client both at trial and on argument to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
Sharon also served as a law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary E. Stanley for several years. In addition to her legal work, Sharon has served on the ministerial staff of her church, and continues to volunteer weekly with PRO-Kids, Inc., nurturing the faith and meeting the needs of at-risk children in her community.
