Bailey Glasser Adds Litigator Lori Bullock and Opens Iowa Office
Des Moines, IA, August 10, 2021 – Iowa’s official state motto – “Our liberties we prize, and our rights we will maintain” – personifies litigator Lori Bullock, who has joined national law firm Bailey & Glasser, LLP as a partner at its new Iowa office in Des Moines. A committed advocate for justice, Lori has handled cases in a wide range of areas, including labor and employment, Title IX, disability discrimination, and civil rights.
“We are delighted to have Lori Bullock join us as we open our Iowa office and expand our Labor & Employment practice group, as well as our Title IX team” said Brian Glasser, the firm’s CEO and co-founder. “Lori has been a friend to our firm, as well as a tenacious advocate for our mutual clients, and we are now pleased she has officially joined forces with our firm as a partner.”
Lori has successfully represented female student-athletes against colleges and universities nationwide for violating Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination at educational institutions receiving federal funds. In the last 10 months alone, as co-counsel with Bailey Glasser’s Cary Joshi, and Title IX team, she won groundbreaking settlements for female student-athletes at eight U.S. colleges and universities. Against Clemson University, she combined with Bailey Glasser to win an historic settlement—the first victory for male student-athletes under Title IX. With Lori representing the female student-athletes and Bailey Glasser representing the male student-athletes, Clemson agreed to reinstate its men’s track, field, and cross-country teams; add two women’s sports; and comply fully with Title IX, providing equal opportunities, athletic financial aid, and treatment throughout its intercollegiate athletic program.
Lori holds a J.D. from Drake University Law School, as well as a B.A. in political science from Iowa State University. Following law school, she clerked for Iowa Supreme Court Justice David Wiggins. She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, NELA’s Iowa chapter, Iowa State Bar Association, and the Polk County Women Attorneys Association.
Lori will practice out of Bailey Glasser’s new Des Moines, Iowa office. “Lori’s addition to the firm continues our strategic vision of growing the firm through the addition of highly talented lawyers who will provide excellent service to all our clients, and in new markets,” said John Barrett, Bailey Glasser’s President. “Our Labor & Employment practice area is one our clients increasingly rely on to help guide their success, and we are pleased to expand our services with the addition of Lori to our team.”
”Over the last year, I have enjoyed working with Cary Joshi, and everyone else at Bailey Glasser and I am very excited to officially become part of the firm,” said Lori Bullock. “I cannot wait to bring my experience assisting clients with employment issues to the firm and help grow the Labor & Employment practice at Bailey Glasser.”
