Bailey Glasser Attorney John Roddy Quoted in West Virginia Record Regarding $143 Million Settlement With Columbia Gas
The West Virginia Record covered Bailey Glasser’s successful settlement secured on behalf of residents and businesses of Lawrence, Andover and North Andover, Massachusetts affected by the September 13, 2018 Merrimack Valley gas explosions. Bailey Glasser secured the settlement in conjunction with co-lead counsel, Grant & Eisenhofer and Morgan & Morgan.
Columbia Gas and its parent company NiSource, Inc. agreed to pay $143 million to the thousands of residents and businesses impacted. The proposed class action settlement will compensate those harmed for the losses and hardships they suffered as a result of these blasts and fires.
In an interview with the publication, Bailey Glasser attorney John Roddy said that "these explosions devastated the communities and economy of the towns in Merrimack Valley. Families suffered for months in the gripping cold. Businesses shuttered, and lives were upended. To this day, the people whose lives were most severely disrupted by the explosions are not fully back on their feet, but we believe this settlement is the quickest and fairest method to ensure that residents and businesses are made whole again."
