Federal Judge Certifies Class In Venture Data Telemarketing Case
U.S. District Judge John P. Bailey of the Northern District of West Virginia gave the green light for a lawsuit against Venture Data and Public Opinion Strategies to move forward as a class-action.
Named plaintiff Diana Mey was represented by John Barrett and Jonathan Marshall of Bailey Glasser’s Charleston, WV office.
The lawsuit alleges that Venture Data used autodialers to call the cell phones of more than one hundred thousand people without their prior consent, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The calls were made on behalf of Public Opinion Strategies for surveys conducted by the organization.
