Abuse Survivors Rally for Justice in Baltimore
Today (Wednesday, March 19), survivors of sexual abuse perpetrated by staff members at Maryland juvenile detention centers will speak out to demand justice and accountability from the State of Maryland and Department of Juvenile Services. Thousands of men and women sexually abused as children in the Maryland juvenile system have courageously come forward to assert legal claims under the Child Victims Act. These cases have exposed systemic, institutional sexual abuse that has occurred for decades in juvenile detention centers throughout the State of Maryland. This highlights the urgent need to provide justice for the survivors and to reform the juvenile justice system. Hundreds of survivors will be attending the event.
